Middleweight rivals Nabbe Malki and Taylan Isik just made their professional debuts at FCR 13, and before the first round started, you could feel the massive expectations in the arena.
Both fighters traded heavy shots from the start and with massive support from the Stockholm crowd, Malki showed off his great boxing. Two minutes into the fight he started to take over more and more, and eventually flored Isik with a heavy uppercut.
“I told you guys. I put a lot of pressure on myself, “Malki said in the post-fight interview. “I feel very confident in my ability to strike.
Nabbe Malki and Tyalan Isik clashed four years ago
Four years ago, the two middleweight rivals fought as amateurs in a bout which Malki won by split decision.
In a recent interview with Paul del Valle at MMA Podden, Malki seemed happy about finally turning pro at the Fight Club Rush Stockholm event.
“It’s a positive difference. When you fight as an amatuer, it’s not so much fun to have these damn shin guards and thick gloves. I like to fight, I like striking so I think it will be an advantage with the thinner gloves. But of course, at the same time the margins are slimmer both ways. But in my game that is an advantage,” Malki said.
