Tracy Cortez returns for UFC’s Mexican Independence Day event

Rising flyweights Tracy Cortez and Jasmine Jasudavicius will clash in a three-round fight on September 16.

MMA Junkie’s Nolan King was the first to report the news of the flyweight matchup.

No. 14 ranked Cortez returns after beating Melissa Gatto at UFC 274 in May last year. She is 10-1 in her pro MMA career and is undefeated in the UFC with four straight wins.

No. 15 ranked Jasudavicius is 3-1 in the UFC and has back-to-back unanimous decision wins against Gabriella Fernandes and Miranda Maverick.

UFC’s Mexican Independence Day card with Tracy Cortez

The September 16 card takes place at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas and is headlined by a UFC flyweight title bout between reigning champion Alexa Grasso and former champ Valentina Shevchenko.

The two faced each other in a exciting fight back in March, where Grasso became the new flyweight title holder after stopping the dominant champion Shevchenko.
