Alexander Lööf gets Cage Warriors ’Fight of the Year’ award

Swedish featherweight Alexander Lööf gets the Cage Warriors ’Fight of the Year’ award after his massive fight against Luke Riley at Cage Warriors 160.
The featherweight clash was a violent back-and-forth battle that showed both fighters heart and skills. After almost finishing Riley in the second round, Lööf was eventually stopped in round three, but the real winners were MMA fans all over the world.
MMA profiles like UFC fighter Paddy Pimblett, referee Marc Goddard and Cage Warriors CEO Graham Boylan all praised the fight afterwards, calling it the best fight in the promotion’s history.

Alexander Lööf reflected on the fight
A couple of days after the fight, Frontkick reached out to Alexander Lööf to talk about the epic battle.
“Despite the results, I felt like I was the better fighter. I was sharper, stronger and more creative. It was just my gas tank,” Lööf said. “The lactic acid fucked me up. I hate excuses, but I know I could have won that fight. It pisses me off. The win slipped through my fingers.”
The experience in Manchester was incredible for the Swedish featherweight.
“I love supporter culture, and when the whole arena was against me I got so excited. When people screamed ‘fucking cunt, you gonna die’ I was just enjoying myself so much,” Lööf laughed.
