In English: Alina Dalaslan’s MMA career didn’t just take off – it exploded!

While most fighters make their professional debut in small venues, Alina Dalaslan stepped into the spotlight of a sold-out arena in her first pro fight.

This past Saturday, the former amateur world champion showed the world what she’s made of in Europe’s leading promotion OKTAGON MMA.

”It was a unique experience, and I’m very happy that the organization made it possible for me to prove myself on such a huge stage right from my debut,” Dalaslan tells Frontkick in an exclusive interview. ”I enjoyed every moment and this indescribable feeling ignited even more fire in me for future fights.”

The German 24-year-old took control from the start and never let her opponent into the fight. With her clean and accurate striking she landed heavy knees and punches until the referee finally stopped the action in the third round.

”My goal is to always maintain control and composure in fight, and I think I demonstrated that well. I stuck to the game plan and worked my way toward the finish step by step. I wanted to demonstrate my sense of distance and precision and not rush things.”

”I had to get used to the cameras”

Alina Dalaslan began gymnastics at the age of four, competing regularly throughout her childhood. After a break from sports, she took up kickboxing at 16 and that’s when she discovered her talent in the fight game.

”My little brother inspired me, as he also trained in kickboxing,” Dalaslan explains. ”Two years ago, I started wrestling at the gym and enjoyed it. That’s how I started MMA fighting.”

Her young MMA career didn’t just take off – it exploded.

At the 2024 IMMAF World Championships in Uzbekistan she defeated two tough opponents before finishing Demi-Shaye Thomas in the final. Now she’s 1-0 as a pro, making waves in the biggest promotion on the continent.

How has the media coverage and hype impacted you so early in your career?

”It all happened very quickly and I had to get used to the cameras, but I am happy that I have the opportunity to let people participate in my journey, to inspire them and to do something good and positive in the world.”

Without any serious damage taken it will probably just be a matter of time before we see the surging prospect return to action in OKTAGON MMA.

”Hopefully as soon as possible but nothing is certain yet.”
