Swedish middleweight Andreas ”Bane” Gustafsson was set for a quick return to the cage.
Just two weeks ago, he made his return to the sport at FCR 14 with a massive win over Lukasz Dziudzia. However, ”Bane” just announced on social media that fight against Mikko “Maniac” Ahmala at CAGE 56 is off.
”Fight Canceled. Soumi pulled out,” Gustafsson wrote in a Instagram story.
The Finnish promotion later gave an update on Instagram.
”Mikko Ahmala has also been forced to withdraw from his bout with Andreas Gustafsson due to last minute sickness,” CAGE wrote on Instagram.
A few weeks back, Andreas Gustafsson made his first performance in the cage after a two-year layoff.
After a tough and competitive first round in the FCR 14 main event, the powerful Swede finished his Polish opponent in the second with heavy ground and pound.
In the post-fight interview, ”Bane” revealed that he intends to be busy fighting next year.
“2023 is going to be a hectic year. In February we have KSW planned. Maybe four fights in KSW next year,” Gustafsson said.
