Top ranked lightweights Beneil Dariush and Mateusz Gamrot just clashed at the main card of UFC 280 in Abu Dhabi.

The first round started at a crazy pace. After trading kicks the fight took to the ground. Very competitive round between two of the division’s absolute best fighters.

In round two, the technical and competitive battle continued. Beneil seemed to find his rhythm the longer the round went.

In the third and final round, Dariush defended Gamrot’s takedowns well. With a minute and a half left, Dariush knocked down Gamrot with a left who was able to get up.

After the final bell, Beneil Dariush stood as the winner via unanimous decision with 30-27, 30-27, 29-28 on the scorecards.

”I’ve done everything I needed to do,” he said after the fight.
