UFC debutant Bernardo Sopai breaks silence after tough KO loss

Swedish-Albanian bantamweight prospect Bernardo Sopai made his short notice UFC debut this past Saturday in a highly anticipated fight against fellow newcomer Vinicius Oliveira. The bout was hyped by the UFC CEO Dana White and fans all over the world dialed in to watch the three-rounder.

After a great first round, he dominated the Brazilian and almost got him out of there in round two with heavy ground-and-pound. However, the fight turned and Sopai was stopped by a vicious flying knee at the very end of the fight.

Now, the Allstars Training Center talent comments on the tough loss.

”Thank you everyone for your support, fight didn’t go our way, but I can say that I’ll be back better than ever. Trust me, my goal is the belt and there is nothing that can stop me from achieving it. See you soon,” Sopai wrote on Instagram.

Michael Bisping praises Berando Sopai

Prior to his short-notice UFC debut Bernardo Sopai won the AFN title against Geovane Vargas via stoppage on December 30. Back in 2022, he won his first MMA title when he stopped Karlen Minasian with a head kick to get the Fight Club Rush bantamweight belt.

At just 23 years of age, Sopai has all the time in the world to come back stronger and hopefully we will see him in the UFC again.

”He’s a monster when it comes to combat sports,” UFC commentator Michael Bisping said about Sopai on this past Saturday’s broadcast.
