Sweden has loads of skilled amateur MMA fighters that get very little coverage in the combat sports media.
Frontkick will take this opportunity to give credit to some of our fantastic amateur fighters out there. This article is not intended to rank the athletes, but rather give them the recognition they deserve.
With that said, here are some of the most interesting Swedish amateur MMA fighters right now!
Martin Karlsson

With the first Superior Academy belt around his waist, Martin Karlsson is a red-hot fighter on the Swedish amateur scene.
Many hungry challengers have already expressed their will to take on Karlsson next and it will be more than interesting to see him defend the strap!
Anzor Shamilev

Örebro Fight Gyms Anzor Shamilev is undoubtedly on the up-and-up.
His most recent win against Sukhrob Tokhirov cemented his status as a top fighter on the Swedish scene and hopefully we will see him back in the cage shortly.

Swedish kickboxing champion Michaela Lundholm made her MMA debut in flying colours as she defeated Natalie Öhlund via unanimous decision at Superior Challenge 1 this past Saturday.
Sure, it’s still very early in her career, but it will be very interesting to see where the former kickboxing champ goes from here!
Sina Qurbani

Sina Qurbani is working his way up the Swedish amateur MMA ladder with his recent win at Superior Academy,
With a solid foundation from hours and hours grinding at KRAFT, Qurbani will be a very interesting fighter to follow in the next couple of years.
