Shoeb Akrami made quite a statement in his MMA comeback at Superior Academy 1. Infront of his hometown crowd, the bantamweight stopped Georgia’s Resant Ashirov in the first round.
The fight was his first in over two years and you could see he was hungry to show the Uppsala crowd what he’s capable of.
“It was a great day for me and our team,” Akrami tells Frontkick. “It was a long time ago we fought on our home turf.”
Prior to the win, Akrami got two straight victories in the Superior Challenge, including a first-round knockout against Fadi Asfar.
“We love to fight at Superior!”

Shoeb Akrami: “I hope I will get more fights”
Even though he made his pro debut back in 2019, Akrami has not fought as many fights as he wanted. His 3-1 pro record, with two wins coming via first-round stoppage, makes him a very interesting prospect on the Scandinavian pro scene. We might see more of the talented bantamweight in the months to come.
“I haven’t had that many fights. One of the problems is that I’ve been injured, and the other problem is that I didn’t agree with some organizations. I hope I will get some more fights.”
