Rising flyweight star Amir Albazi has been a force of nature since his UFC debut back in 2020.
On Saturday he will be back in action for his first main event as he faces the dangerous and top ranked Kai Kara-France in a five-rounder.
“The flyweight guy that everybody needs to keep their eyes on, I’m talking about Amir Albazi,” double champion Henry Cejudo said about Albazi. “He’s going to be a nightmare for anybody at 125 pounds.”
Let’s take a closer look at ”The Prince’s” successful UFC career so far!

The Swedish-Iraqi MMA fighter made his debut in flying colours as he took on Malcolm Gordon on July 18, 2020.
Both fighters had only two weeks’ notice as they replaced Tagir Ulanbekov and Aleksander Doskalchuk, but the short-notice didn’t seem to bother ”The Prince” as he submitted Gordon inside 4 minutes and 42 seconds of the first round.

On January 23 2021, Albazi returned for his second promotional outing as he took on Zhalgas Zhumagulov at UFC 257.
After three rounds of action, the Swedish-Iraqi stood as the winner via his only unanimous decision in the UFC.

At UFC 278 this past August, ”The Prince” took on Francisco Figueiredo – brother of former two-time flyweight champion Deiveson Figueiredo.
After a 13 month layoff, Albazi showed no signs of ring rust as he finished Figueiredo via rear-naked choke at the end of the first round.
Knocking out Alessandro Costa

In his latest octagon appearance, Amir Albazi took on Alessandro Costa at a UFC Fight Night this past December.
Albazi was first scheduled to face Alex Perez, however, as Perez withdrew from the bout, Brandon Royval was brought in. In late November, Royval was forced out of the fight due to a broken wrist, and was replaced by UFC debutant Costa.
Albazi did not seem affected by the change of opponents as he knocked out the newcomer in the third round.
