DWCS 61 results: ”One of the worst ref stoppages”

Dana White’s Contender Series 61 just took place at the Apex with ten fighters competing for a contract in the UFC.

After showing their skilsl and heart in the octagon, following five fighters earned UFC contract offers.

• Bantamweight Dione Barbosa (6-2)
• Featherweight Jean Silva (11-2)
• Middleweight Dylan Budka (7-2)
• Featherweight Serhiy Sidey (10-1)
• Light heavyweight Brendson Ribeiro (15-5).

Dana White: ”One of the worst ref stoppages”

One of the most interesting happenings of the evening was the quick stoppage by referee Kevin MacDonald in the fight between Serhiy Sidey and Ramon Taveras. The stoppage was not appreciated by UFC president Dana White, calling it “one of the worst ref stoppages” he’s ever seen.

In fact the president disliked the ref’s call so much that he decided that Taveras will get another shot on a contract during Week 10 of the DWCS.
