17-fight UFC veteran Eryk Anders’ life is back on track.
In a recent post on social media, the American fighter revealed that he’s been sober for a year and looking forward to his biggest fight inside the octagon.
”A year ago yesterday I stopped abusing drugs. In that year I got custody of my son, won some fights, bought some houses, cut all the craziness/ people out of my life, and had the biggest year of personal growth, and more focused than ever, and have the biggest fight of career coming up in November. I’m proud of me,” Anders wrote on social media.
Eryk Anders will face former UFC champ
Anders made a blistering UFC debut in July 2017 when he knocked out Rafael Natal in the first round.
Since then he has faced some of the best fighters in the world, like former UFC light heavyweight champion Lyoto Machida, light heavyweight title challenger Thiago Santos and Khalil Rountree Jr, who will fight for the light heavyweight title next.
In his last outing, Eryk Anders won a unanimous decision against Jamie Pickett.
He is scheduled to face former UFC middleweight title holder Chris Weidman on November 9 at UFC 309. The card goes down at the classic Madison Square Garden in New York City. The event will mark the promotion’s eighth visit to New York City and first since UFC 295 in November 2023.
