European Championships day 2: Four Swedish fighters advances!

The IMMAF European Championships take place between September 27 and Saturday October 1 in Lignano Sabbiadoro, Italy. Frontkick will provide you with the Swedish results all week.

Benjamin Hajijan continues to impress

Junior featherweight Benjamin Hajijan continued to impress in the tournaments when defeated Alexandre Rita from Portugal in the quarterfinals.

With a solid performance in all three rounds, the Swede stood as the winner with 30-27 on all scorecards. Hajijan will face Andrii Stoian from Ukraine in the semifinals.

Arsen Tuganov wins via first round submission

Swedish flyweight Arsen Tuganov faced Kevin Caperna from Italy in the eighth finals. Caperna started the round with combinations and a submission attempt.

However, the Swede was able to defend himself well, and before the first round ended, he turned the fight around and submitted his Italian opponent.

Tuganov will face Artem Melkumian from Ukraine in the quarterfinals.

Daniyal Shamkhalov wins tough fight

Featherweight Daniyal Shamkhalov faced Jordan Bradshaw from Ireland in the eighth final. After three even and high paced rounds, the Swedish 23-year-old stood as the winner via unanimous decision.

Shamkhalov will face Mika Rasanen from Finland in the quarterfinals.

Hanna Palmquist dominates her opponent

Swedish flyweight Hanna Palmquist faced Italy’s Giulia Volpe in the eighth finals. The strong Swede dominated the fight with her solid ground game and stood as the winner via unanimous decision.

Palmquist will face Sonja Pohjalainen from Finland in the quarterfinals

Robin Kohzadi loses via first-rond submission

18-year-old lightweight Robin Kohzadi faced Radostin Georgiev from Bulgaria in the eighth finals. In a furious first round, both fighters fought fiercely at a high pace.

However, by the end of the round, Georgiev forced the Swede to tap via a tight standing guillotine choke.
