Tough TKO loss for Hanna Palmquist
Swedish flyweight Hanna Palmquist faced Marta Pankiv from Ukraine in the semifinals.
The Swede opened strong in the first round, landing knees in the clinch. In the second round, Palmquist started well with a takedown, however, Pankiv came back with a barrage of punches on the feet that secured the win via TKO.
Strong tournament and a flyweight bronze medal for Hanna Palmquist, who showed both heart and skills during the week.

Defeat for Yrsa Sandin in the lightweight semifinals
Swedish Yrsa Sandin entered the tournament in the lightweight semifinals where she faced Millie-Rae Vardy from England.
The tall Vardy was able to use her long reach to keep Sandin at bay. The Swede tried to get in close range to use her solid grappling, but the British fighter landed kicks throughout the fight. In the end, Vardy stood as the winner via unanimous decision.

Massive TKO takes Nikolija Milosevic to the finals
The reigning bantamweight world champion Nikolija Milosevic faced Giulia Grossi from Italy in the bantamweight semifinals.
In a high-paced and gruelling first round, both bantamweights found success. However, in round two, Milosevic took over and eventually got Grossi to the ground. After relentless ground-and-pound, the referee stopped the fight and the Swede was declared winner by TKO.
Milosevic will face Paulina Kontna from Poland in the finals.

Daniyal Shamkhalov loses competetive fight
Daniyal Shamkhalov faced Ammar Mazri from France in the featherweight semifinals. The tall Mazri fought well on distance, with good boxing and kicks in the first two rounds, while Shamkhalov landed good shots of his own.
In the third round, the Swede took over with takedowns and hammerfists on the ground. However, the judges’ gave the win to the French fighter with 29-28 on all three scorecards.
Daniyal Shamkhalov showed both heart and skills during the week and won a well-deserved bronze medal.

Astrid Vikgren fights well but loses razor-thin decision
Swedish Astrid Vikgren faced Anastasiia Holinko from Ukraine in the junior flyweight finals. The finals turned out to be a great fight between two technical competitors.
Holinko started well with high output and spinning attacks. However, the pace took its toll on the Ukrainian, and Vikgren stepped up in the third round, walking her opponent down and landing clean shots. After the final bell, Holinko stood as the winner via a razor thin split decision.
A strong performance by Astrid Vikgren who won a well deserved silver medal.
