The highly anticipated catchweight co-main event between Stockholm’s Bilal Tipsaev and FCR debutant Mohammed Walid just went down at FCR 21.
The Swedish fans expected fireworks from the start, but the pairing just threw one leg kick each in the first minute. When Tipsaev took the fight to the ground, he immediately started to control his opponent. Walid could not get up, but did not take any damage either.
The second round started with a bit more action as Tipsaev landed a solid combination that staggered his opponent. With three minutes left, the fight took to the mat. The Swede ended up on top but did not do much but control his opponent. He did just enough for the referee to not seperate the two.
Tipsaev took the fight to the ground in the beginning of the third round. Walid did not really have an answer to the Swede’s superior wrestling skills. The ref called for more action with three minutes to go and eventually separated the two. Walid’s only chance to win the fight was via stoppage, but Tipsaev took him down again.
Tipsaev eventually stood as the winner via unanimous decision with 30-27, 29-28 and 30-27 on the scorecards.
