This past Saturday’s Fight Club Rush 17 delivered a lot of entertaining MMA action that left no one in Fyrishov Arena disappointed.
Check out Frontkick’s five biggest takeaways from FCR 17!
Flyweight title fight debacle

With the title fight main event fallout, FCR 17 took a massive hit just hours before the start.
From a fan side of view, the spectacular card delivered the goods even without the title fight, but for the promotion it’s definitely a big blow to lose a high profile main event on fight day.
The two flyweight rivals are not set to clash in Touma’s first title defense, at FCR 18 on November 25, which of course is reasonable. Hopefully the paperwork and the championship weight will be on point this time.
Bajo vs. Bane for the title?

With the entertaining welterweight striker Christopher Bajo calling out Andreas ”Bane” Gustafsson after his massive first-round KO against Toni Lampinen, the promotion got one of the most exciting fights thrown in their lap.
A fight between the Muay Thai based Bajo and the tough Gustafsson, would be the perfect main event for a upcoming card. Why not making it even more interesting and throw in a FCR welterweight title while you are at it?
Seven first-round finishes

FCR 17 had a crazy seven first round finishes in 11 fights!
The high percentage of first-round stoppages could have been the effect of the many short-notice changes in the line-up, but who cares when we got to see so many quick knockouts and submissions.
Nabbe is back

Stockholm’s Nabbe Malki is back in the win column with his quick stoppage win against the dangerous grappler Maycon James.
Malki is a huge fan favorite and one of the biggest draws for FCR, and him defeating an experienced fighter like James is a big win both for him and the promotion.
Josefine Modig enters the scene

Former National Team member and World Cup winner Josefine Modig lived up to the expectations and then some in her highly anticipated professional debut.
With the impressive first-round submission against the tough Nina Back, we can’t wait to see Modig return to action as soon as possible.
