If anyone still doubted the young prospect Liam Pitts ahead of Saturday’s title bout, I bet they changed their minds after watching the nasty first-round submission he pulled of in the amateur bantamweigh title bout.

Facing him was three-time Finnish national champion Rasmus Vauhkonen, without a doubt his hardest test to date, but Pitts bulldozered his way through the Fin and quickly found a rear-naked-choke that put an end to the fight.

With a 5-0 record, three wins via stoppage, there is no doubt that the young Swedish bantamweight has a bright future. Let’s just hope Liam and his team decides to not stress a pro career, but to take the time to build him up properly with more amateur fights, especially in international tournaments, to get him the necessary experience needed for the bigger fights that surely will come his way.
