This past Saturday’s Allstars Fight Night 4 delivered tons of entertaining MMA action that left no fans disappointed.

With three title bouts, and 11 stoppages in 13 fights, the crowd undoubtedly got enough bang for the buck to last through January!

Check out Frontkick’s Tobias Lindkvist’s five biggest takeaways from AFN 4!

Liam Pitts is the real deal

If anyone still doubted the young prospect Liam Pitts ahead of Saturday’s title bout, I bet they changed their minds after watching the nasty first-round submission he pulled of in the amateur bantamweigh title bout.

Facing him was three-time Finnish national champion Rasmus Vauhkonen, without a doubt his hardest test to date, but Pitts bulldozered his way through the Fin and quickly found a rear-naked-choke that put an end to the fight.

With a 5-0 record, three wins via stoppage, there is no doubt that the young Swedish bantamweight has a bright future. Let’s just hope Liam and his team decides to not stress a pro career, but to take the time to build him up properly with more amateur fights, especially in international tournaments, to get him the necessary experience needed for the bigger fights that surely will come his way.

Sakhi “Machete” Qambari is dynamite

This was one of the fights I looked forward to the most on and it surely didn’t fail to deliver.

The entertaining Sakhi “Machete” Qambari had promised a quick finish against Hama Dara and lived up to his words as he secured a tight leg lock that forced his opponent to tap in the first round.

After losing his pro debut in August 2022, “Machete” has evolved into a monster inside the cage. His three straight first-round submission wins in 2023 makes me stoked to see what he can pull off in 2024. Maybe it’s time to test his wings outside of Sweden?

UFC next for Bernardo Sopai?

Allstars own Bernardo Sopai is a dangerous, entertaining and violent fighter who’s sadly enough somewhat overlooked.

With a record of 11-2 – ten wins via stoppage – and two regional titles to his name, the young fighter seems ready to take a big step up in his career.

Sopai has mentioned the UFC many times, but if the world’s leading MMA promotion for some mysterious reason aren’t interested, I would very much like to see him compete in OKTAGON MMA, PFL Europe or Cage Warriors in 2024.

Will Megic Mike be back?

Without a doubt TikTok-star Megic Mike brought an audience that usually doesn’t watch Swedish MMA to Allstars Fight Night.

The hyped influencer tried his best to entertain and create a buzz at the AFN 4 press conference, where he dressed up as Santa Claus and handed out sex toys to his opponent. On the actual fight night he brought tons of followers who gladly lined up to watch him fight, even though he didn’t get the win he hoped for in the end.

To step into the cage in front of hundreds of loud fight fans is obviously a very brave thing to do for anyone, especially a person who’s not a trained fighter – hats off to that – but once you lose, will the people still be interested to see another fight?

Was this past Saturday’s loss in fact the end of influencer fighting at AFN?

The vibe and the energy

Allstars Fight Night has definitely been a breath of fresh air in the Scandinavian MMA scene during the past six months. With the vibe of a sweaty underground rock concert, the organization brings something to the table that I’ve been missing.

Don’t get me wrong though, I enjoy the bigger Swedish MMA events at larger venues too, but there is something with the dense, loud and hot-as-hell atmosphere at the Allstars Training Center that works so well with violent entertainment. The long line of fans waiting outside in the cold before the doors opened obviously think that AFN got something unique going on too.

I just hope AFN realizes that they have a cool niche in the regional scene and don’t decide to move the events to a bigger venue as the organization grows bigger.
