Former UFC champ Jamahal Hill arrested after fight with his brother

Former UFC light heavyweight champion Jamahal Hill was recently arrested and charged with one misdemeanor count of aggravated domestic violence. That’s according to the Kent County Sheriff’s Office.

The news was first reported by TZM, who claims the alleged violence the ex-champ’s brother who reportedly suffered “serious or aggravated injury”. The hearing is scheduled for January 2024.

The former champion’s manager, Brian Butler, gave a comment to the situation on social media

“The recent “click bait” headlines about (Jamahal Hill) were based on an alleged dispute between him and his older brother,” Butler wrote on X. ”Jamahal adamantly maintains his innocence and denies the false accusations. We will not be commenting anymore about this until the truth comes out in court.”

Jamahal Hill vacated the title after injury

Jamahal Hill has been out of action since January 21, when he won the light heavyweight title against Glover Teixeira at UFC 283 at the Jeunesse Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

The 32-year-old vacated the title in July after he suffered an Achilles tendon tear. He got injured during a fighter basketball game at the UFC International Fight Week.

Hill is currently riding a four-fight winning streak against Jimmy Crute, Johnny Walker, Thiago Santos and Glover Teixeira.
