Undefeated UFC fighter Ian Garry will return to action on December 16 to take on the tough and seasoned welterweight veteran Vicente Luque.

Even though the Brazilian is a very dangerous fighter, it is something completely different that the 26-year-old Irish prospect is worried about.

Speaking to TNT Sports, Garry raised concerned over possible danger awaiting his wife and child due to recent drama that comes from a beef with outspoken UFC middleweight champion Sean Strickland.

”I’m a little bit cautious about going to America for the safety of my family with all the shit that’s been going on online. To protect my wife, to protect my child, to protect myself.”

Ian Garry: ”I’m excited for UFC 296”

Luque will arguably be the toughest fight to date for Ian Garry, who comes from a top drawer performance against veteran Neil Magny at UFC 292 in August.

”I’m excited for UFC 296,” Garry said. “I think it’s a massive card. A card with all the big names, a lot of big matchups.”

His Brazilian opponent comes from a win against his countryman Rafael dos Anjos in August.

“I’m not remotely concerned or worried about the fight. The fight’s fun. The fight’s easy for me. It’s always something I enjoy, something I love,” Garry said about facing Luque.
