This past Saturday, former UFC light heavyweight champion Jiri Prochazka tried to win back his title.
After getting stopped by Alex Pereira in the second round, via a brutal knockout, the Czech is giving himself an ultimatum.
“Hello everyone, thank you for all your support,” Prochazka said on Instagram. “Thanks to you, Alex, for the fight. You [were] better. And only one thing goes on my mind, that I need to evolve to the next level — or don’t fight again. So simple, to be the strongest, this is the way. Thank you. See you in the gym.”
Jiří Procházka is a professional mixed martial artist from the Czech Republic who gained prominence in the Rizin Fighting Federation, a Japanese MMA promotion before joining the UFC back in 2020.
In June 2022, he won the light heavyweight title by submitting Glover Teixeira at UFC 275. The fight was widely regarded as one of the best of the year.
