Unranked fighter on the rise, Joe Pyfer, will face Sweden’s Jack Hermansson on February 10 in Las Vegas. The fight will serve as the headliner and is Pyfer’s first five-rounder in the UFC.
The 27-year-old is not particularly impressed by the No. 10 ranked Swedish veteran, who faced some of the best in the division over the past years, and has more than twice the amount of experience with his 31 pro bouts.
”I don’t think his boxing is all that good. I think that he’s a tough guy. I think he’s got grit more than anything,” Pyfer recently told Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour.
”He’s kind of awkward, he kind of throws sloppy ass combinations. I don’t think that he does anything great, but he’s a tough guy everywhere. If you get caught trailing behind him, he just kind of pulls away.”

Too powerful for Jack Hermansson?
After earning a UFC contract via a stunning performance at Dana White’s Contender Series, the American fighter finished all of his three fights in the promotion. He doesn’t think the ”Joker” will present any problem that will make the fight go the distance.
”He’s got good cardio, so I think my biggest fight for this is understanding that I’ve got to be prepared for 25 minutes,” Pyfer said. ”I don’t think it’s going to go 25 minutes. I think I’m too powerful, I think I’m too fast, and I think that’s what excites me about it. I think I can catch him inside of his recklessness.”
