After pulling together an impressive 8-1 record, rising Danish amateur star Jon Stadil Palm is ready to go pro in 2025.
First, however, he is set to defend his Danish National title in a rematch with his rival Enea Sopa at MMA Galla in November. Even though the surging fighter had his pro debut booked, the fight against Sopa was too good to turn down.
”I’ve actually already made plans for my pro debut, which will be at Dominance FC 2 on January 11,” Stadil Palm tells Frontkick in an exclusive interview. ”Originally this was going to be my next fight, but then I got offered to defend my Danish National Championship title in a rematch with Enea Sopa, who I knocked out in 2022, and I thought that sounded like a fun matchup and a good way to stay active, so I accepted.”
Even though Stadil Palm knocked out Sopa in October 2022, he claims that there’s no bad blood between the two.
”After our last fight, he and I have been on good terms and wishing each other good luck on our respective fights, so I’m expecting a fun fight where we both come to prove ourselves.”

Great expectations on the Danish MMA scene
In contrast to their neighbors in Sweden, Danish MMA fighters have quite few options when it comes to promotions to compete in.
Just like the majority of Denmark’s fighters, Stadil Palm fought a lot under the MMA Galla banner. The promotion has been in the leading position for quite some time, but as former UFC lightweight Mark Madsen recently launched Dominance FC, things look to change in 2025.
”With the introduction of Dominance FC to the Danish fight scene, I think there is gonna be a lot of big things coming in the next year, as the currently biggest promotion, MMA Galla, now has a real competitor in DFC. Also many of what I consider my generation’s fighters are on hot streaks and have been making the move to the pro leagues, which I think will help promote and boost the attention on fighters coming out of Denmark both nationally and internationally.”
Jon Stadil Palm has great ambitions for 2025
With the momentum of fighting in a new promotion, and with the growing attention on the Danish MMA scene, Stadil Palm intends to strike when the iron is hot and make the absolute most of his first year as a pro fighter.
”The plan for 2025 right now is to sign a contract for my professional career, most likely under the DFC banner, and be as active as possible throughout the year. I hope to have a successful beginning to my professional career, and cement myself as the best on the roster before 2025 is over.”
