Brazilian welterweight Jose Henrique prospect inked a deal with the UFC a few months back and had not yet been booked for his promotional debut.

However, it looks like Henrique’s debut will have to wait for quite some time as he recently submitted an out-of-competition sample that tested positive for 19-norandrosterone and 19-noretiocholanolone.

“Nandrolone and other 19-norsteroids are non-Specified Substances in the class of Anabolic Agents and prohibited at all times under the UFC Anti-Doping Policy and UFC Prohibited List,” USADA said in a written statement Thursday.

The 21-year-old Brazilian welterweight’s test was reportedly submitted on March 8, which means that he’s allowed to return to action on March 8, 2025.

Jose Henrique has not yet made a public comment on the situation.
