Swedish MMA fighter and BJJ specialist Josefine Modig is the new European Champion in No-Gi BJJ after winning three bouts in Rome, Italy..
The grappling ace commented on her recent success in an Instagram post.
”When in Rome – I don’t fully know what that expression is supposed to mean, but I believe that when in Rome you might as well take gold,” Modig says.
”Feather brown belt european champion 2023,” Modig continued. ”I had 3 fights, first one won on points 7-0, second on toe hold and third on RNC. Keeping up my no points scored against me streak for 2023 (knock on wood).
After years of competing successfully in grappling, BJJ and amateur MMA, the former IMMAF World Cup gold medalist finally made her professional MMA debut at Fight Club Rush 17 in September.
Modig stepped on the gas pedal from start and was able to win the fight against Nina Back via submission in the first round.
Just weeks after her pro MMA debut, Josefinde Modig won the ADCC grappling tournament in Poland and qualified herself for the ADCC Worlds 2024 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
