KSW double champ signs with ONE – Wants titles in all combat sports

KSW double champion Roberto Soldic just signed with ONE Championship. The reason why he chose to go with the promotion is because he will have the chance to take belts in other combat sports than MMA.

“I chose ONE because it’s the biggest martial arts promotion in the world,” Soldić said on The MMA Hour. ”They give me opportunity to take all the belts: Kickboxing world champion, Muay Thai world champion, MMA world champion, also boxing world champion. So this makes me something new. I want to create something for my people, for my own legacy. So I chose ONE for sure.”

The KSW middleweight and welterweight champion, who also has four boxing bouts under his belt, is famous for his crazy finishes. No less than seventeen of the double champions’ twenty wins have come by knockout.

”I want to hold the belts from all combat sports. Nobody has done this before. So this is, for me, the biggest challenge,” Soldić said.

Roberto Soldic thinks higher of ONE than UFC

For Roberto Soldic the choice between ONE and UFC is easy. ”Robocop” sees the former organization as more true to martial arts, with better striking and grappling in general.

”It’s the biggest promotion in the world,”  Soldić said. ”You know what happens to UFC stars when they go to ONE. They lose, they cannot take the ONE belt. So this makes me want to be a different fighter. I want to try and take this belt where UFC fighters failed. They don’t show up there.”

Roberto Soldic has no fight booked yet but hopes to make his ONE debut before the end of the year.
