When the lights shine brightest, many newcomers falter — but Swedish bantamweight standout Liam Pitts seems built for the big stage. On November 1 he will make his debut in Europe’s leading MMA promotion OKTAGON.

Liam Pitts may be a new name to many European MMA fans, but in Sweden, he’s already a household name.

After winning and defending the regional AFN amateur bantamweight title, and representing the National Team in the World Championships, he turned pro and quickly got two knockout wins.

On November 1, Pitts will step onto the big stage for his OKTAGON MMA debut, and the young Swede promises to come well-prepared for his biggest fight yet.

”We’ve been grinding at Allstars like usual. Like animals,” Pitts tells Frontkick. ”The opponent doesn’t matter too much to me. I don’t think that way. I’m just thinking of what I’m going to do.”

”A lot of fighters are focused on what their opponent does and this and that, but at the end of the day, you have to what you are going to do. So I don’t focus too much on that, I focus more on what I’m going to do. My game plan.”

Liam Pitts loves the spotlight

A lot of young fighters crumble under the pressure of stepping into a packed arena for the first time. Liam Pitts, however, is not like most up-and-comers.

”I’m excited. For me it’s better that it’s a big arena and more attention. I think I do better under pressure. And when there’s a situation where there is more pressure I think I perform better. So I’m excited about it. I’ve been wanting this for a while. This is the first step of the direction we’re going. This is just the beginning.”
