Former featherweight champion Max ”Blessed” Holloway will be back in action this weekend as he’s set to take on Arnold Allen, who’s undefeated in the UFC.
Going into the pivotal fight, the young veteran has his mind set on making a statement to show the world that he’s still the top dog in the stacked featherweight division.
“That’s in my mind. Just remind people. I guess I got a little Roy Jones in me. Y’all must’ve forgot. I’m hearing everybody talking, hearing the critics, hearing the media, hearing all the social media people talking. I just can’t wait to go out there and show out,” Holloway said at the recent UFC media day.

Max Holloway fought for the 155 interim strap
Even though Holloway is aiming to get another shot at the featherweight title, the naturally big 145:er hinted at a move to lightweight in the near future. Something that would mean a whole lot of new possibilities for the 31-year-old.
In fact, ”Blessed” clashed with Dustin Poirer for the lightweight interim title in an intense five-round battle back in 2019.
“I would love to fight and get busy and 155. Like I said, it’s not that far off, man. I mean, I had a very competitive fight with Poirier in the rematch, and he used to be top three in the world at 155 right now?”
“And then you know Alex did his thing against Islam. Again, styles make fights. We’re proving that like, we’re right there amongst the top. So at the end of the day, I don’t know, bro. But I am Polynesian, I’m Samoan-Hawaiian, we love food, so I think gaining weight is not going to be a problem,” Max Holloway said.
