Max Holloway’s wish has come true.

The former champion is booked for a five-round main event against The Korean Zombie at the UFC card in Singapore on August 26.

”Blessed” called for the fight against Zombie after defeating Arnold Allen at UFC Kansas City in April, and UFC officials finally announced the featherweight matchup Thursday.

The bout will be the Korean MMA veteran’s first appearance in the UFC since April last year, when he suffered a tough loss to champion Alexander Volkanovski in a featherweight title fight. He is 3-2 in his previous five outing, with wins over Renato Moicano, Frankie Edgar and Dan Ige.

Max Holloway: ”Why not go out on a bang?”

Recently visiting the MMA Hour, Max Holloway had the following to say about the fight, which was not announced at the time.

”Like I said, I told everyone, from that time when WEC was coming up, I fought most of those guys. Ricardo Lamas, [Jose] Aldo, [Anthony] Pettis, Dustin Poirier. He’s one I never got yet. I never got to get him. He’s still here, still top 10 — I think he’s No. 7 or whatever — so it makes sense. One fight, I’m hearing he wants to retire, so why not go out on a bang?”

The Singapore card will be the first in the country since UFC 275 in June 2022.
