New exciting UFC bouts: Potential FOTY is a done deal

From the heaviest of featherweight fights to returning fan favorites – there are plenty of new exciting UFC bouts in the making for the summer.

Brian Ortega vs. Yair Rodriguez

On July 16, featherweight warriors Brian Ortega and Yair Rodriguez will clash in a five-round main event. A bout that will be one of the most intresting of the summer since the winner will have a good chance of fighting for the title next.

In his last fight, No. 2 ranked Ortega lost to reigning champion Alexander Volkanovski, after taking alot of damage during five intense rounds. No. 3 ranked Rodriguez is coming of a tough loss as well. In November last year, he gave it all, but fell short against former champion Max Holloway.

Paddy Pimblett vs. Jordan Leavitt

Fan favorite Paddy Pimblett gets another fight on his home soil when he faces Jordan Leavitt at the second UFC London card of 2022.

So far, Pimblett is undefeated in the UFC with first round finishes in both fights. His opponent Leavitt, is 3-1 in the UFC with two straight victories.

Manon Fiorot vs. Katlyn Chookagian

No. 6 ranked flyweight Manon Fiorot is scheduled to face No.1 ranked Katlyn Chookagian on September 3.

Since her UFC debut in January 2021, Fiorot has established herself as one of the most interesting rising stars in female MMA. In just 14 months she defeated Jennifer Maia, Mayra Bueno Silva, Tabatha Ricci and Victoria Leonardo, and now she is up for her toughest test to date, when she faces veteran Chookagian.

Norma Dumont vs. Danyelle Wolf

Three time US nation boxing champion Danyelle Wolf will make her UFC debut against Brazil’s Norma Dumont. The featherweight fight will be Wolf’s second as MMA pro, and a part of a UFC event on September 10.

Dumont is coming of a loss against Macy Chiasson, on May 7. Before that she won three straight fights.

Ricky Turcios vs. Aiemann Zahabi

Ricky Turcios is scheduled to face Aiemann Zahabi at a UFC event on July 9. The two bantamweights are both coming of wins in their last fights.
