OKTAGON 62 will go down at the massive Deutsche Bank Park stadium in Frankfurt, which has a capacity of well over 50,000 spectators.

The promotion has already reportedly sold around 55,000 tickets for the upcoming card, which looks to be one of the biggest the European continent has ever seen.

So, how is it possible for an European promotion to beat UFC’s attendance record? What does it take for an MMA event to sell over 50.000 tickets?

Let’s take a closer look at why OKTAGON 62 will be absolutely massive!

Huge derby headliner!

The fan favorite main event between Christian Eckerlin and Christian Jungwirth is a huge fight for German MMA.

Eckerlin, also known as ”The King of Frankfurt”, could not be a more perfect headline fighter for the card at the Deutsche Bank Park stadium in Frankfurt. The former pro footballer is a champ of several German promotions and is perhaps the biggest MMA star in the country right now.

Stuttgart’s Jungwirth is a fighters fighter and has won the heart of MMA fans all around Europe with his relentless fighting style.

Eckerlin or Jungwirth – who will be the King of German MMA?

Pound-for-pound No.1 and middleweight champion Patrik Kincl will put his title on the line as he returns to take on challenger Kerim Engizek.

MMA veteran Kincl is one of the biggest stars in the promotion and comes from an impressive submission win against Piotr Wawrzyniak. Düsseldorf’s Engizek, on the other hand, rides a 14-fight winning streak and has proven to be nothing but a force of nature inside the cage.

This fight really has what it takes to be a modern classic and is the perfect co-main event for a stacked card.

A mix of veterans and prospects

The OKTAGON 62 fight card is not yet set in stone, but as it looks at the moment, it is a great mix of seasoned veterans, promising prospects and German stars.

The Frankfurt crowd will get to watch battle-tested vets like Pavol Langer and former PFL fighter Max Coga, as well as prospects like Arijan Topallaj and Deniz ”El Pistolero” Ilbay.

With about two months to go, and with some of the hottest fighters in Europe on the OKTAGON roster, there’s still a lot of time to book more interesting fights to the card.

The German MMA fans

Germany has over and over proved that they have among the strongest MMA fanbases in Europe. If the promotion would sell out a massive 58.000 seater anywhere, it is for sure in Germany.

“It is our first stadium show here and it is absolutely massive. We are very close to selling out and putting ourselves in the history books. It is absolutely crazy, mind-blowing and still selling really well and tracking towards an even bigger number,” Oktagon MMA co-owner Pavol Neruda recently said about the upcoming OKTAGON 62.

If OKTAGON MMA beats UFC’s record it is nothing but sensational.

UFC’s biggest-ever crowd was at UFC 243 when 57,127 watched the middleweight title bout between Robert Whittaker and Israel Adesanya at Marvel Stadium in Melbourne, Australia. The card featured fighters from Oceania like Dan Hooker, Tai Tuivasa and Justin Tafa.
