Cedric Doumbe Baissangour Chamsoudinov PFL Europe Paris MMA Frontkick

Rising MMA star Cedric Doumbe is set for his next fight under the PFL Europe banner, as he’ll face fellow undefeated welterweight prospect Baissangour Chamsoudinov in Paris on March 7.

Doumbe made a huge splash in his promotional debut back in September as he slept countryman Jordan Zebo on home soil only nine seconds into the first round. The former GLORY Kickboxing champion walked out carrying a mattress and then got the audience to chant ”You’re dead!” as he shouted opponent’s name inside the cage, before knocking his opponent out cold to create a crazy viral moment.

Now 5-0, Cedric Doumbe is ready for a step-up in competition and he’ll get just that on March 7.

22-year-old Baissangour Chamsoudinov is 8-0 and could prove to be a difficult challenge for a striker like Doumbe considering he’s got good takedowns and solid grappling. Despite his young age, ”Baki” has fought tough competition since he joined top French promotion ARES. In his most recent bouts, Chamsoudinov has defeated a couple of previously-undefeated fighters as well as former UFC fighter and The Ultimate Fighter 8 winner Efrain Escudero who he finished by second-round knockout last June.

PFL Europe’s Paris show sold out in minutes following Cedric Doumbe fight announcement

As he’s getting ready for his biggest fight to date, Cedric Doumbe is definitely becoming one of the biggest names on the European MMA scene as a massive draw in France, where his star power is undoubtably huge.

It reportedly took 20 minutes following the Cedric Doumbe vs Baissangour Chamsoudinov fight announcement before the Accor Arena was completely sold out. The Paris arena has a capacity of 20 000 spectators, although it’s unclear exactly how many tickets were sold for the PFL Europe event.

While Doumbe is the clear A side and draw, the Chamsoudinov matchup is highly-anticipated for many European MMA fans as it’s a clash of undefeated up-and-comers who’s been trading words before.

”For all the non-Euro fans, let me tell you how massive this fight is. Both fighters have HUGE followings in France, both unbeaten. They’ve been trading shots online for a while now,” Italian MMA reporter Al Zullino explains on X. ”Back to the roots: kickboxer vs grappler. The arena is going to EXPLODE.”
