Unfortunately, Sweden will leave the IMMAF World MMA Championship in Serbia without any gold medal.
Allstars Training Center prospect Rafael Kveldstad made it to the men’s junior middleweight final, but lost a close split decision to Czech’s Tagit Machmudov that could’ve gone either way.
For the most part, the fight took place on the ground with both fighters scrambling for position and threatening with submission attempts.
In the end, Machmudov did just enough to secure the win on two of the three judge’s scorecards.
With that, Rafael Kveldstad is the lone silver medalist from team Sweden. Emma Schiöler, Yrsa Sandin and Hanna Palmquist lost their respective semi final bouts and walks away with bronze medals.
