Report: UFC Hall of Famer died of accidental overdose

UFC Hall of Famer Stephan Bonnar, 45, died of an accidental drug overdose.
According to reports from MMA Fighting, The Clark County coroner’s office ruled his death accidental from “Fentanyl, Parafluorofentanyl and Mitragynine intoxication”.
The coroner’s office declined to give additional information.

Stephan Bonnar was inducted in 2013
Stephen Bonnar played a big part in growing the UFC with his fight against Forrest Griffin during the first season of “The Ultimate Fighter.” back in April 2005.
Griffin won the fight by unanimous decision but both fighters ended up signing with the promotion. Both Griffin and Bonnar were inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame in 2013.
“Stephan Bonnar was one of the most important fighters to ever compete in the Octagon,” Dana White said in December. “His fight with Forrest Griffin changed the sport forever, and he will never be forgotten.”
During his UFC run, he faced fighters like Rashad Evans, Anderson Silva and Jon Jones.
The UFC hosted a Celebration of Life ceremony for Bonnar in February 2023, where a number of speakers paid tribute, including UFC president Dana White and historic rival Griffin among others.
