Swedish MMA event Superior Challenge 26 POSTPONED

Swedish MMA promotion Superior Challenge was scheduled to return with Superior Challenge 26 on May 6.

However, according to the promotion’s website, the event is now postponed to November 4.

The event will still take place at Annexet Arena in Stockholm, but so far, no fights are announced for the event.

Markus Svensson, Superior Challenge’s Head of press relations, explained the situation in a statement to Frontkick and Maximum Sports,

”After conversations with Viaply during the past weeks, we decided to move the event to November 4. Customers who bought tickets to the event will be upgraded to a more expensive price class, moved closer to the cage, or be refunded.”

Title fight was supposed to headline Superior Challenge 26

The Superior Challenge 26 event was supposed to be headlined by a middleweight title bout between Sweden’s Robin Roos and UK’s fighter Kevin Fryer.

At the moment, there is no word if the fight is still on for November.

The last Superior Challenge event took place on December 10 last year.

In the co-main event, Andreas “Real Steel” Ståhl put on a massive performance against Paulo Bananada to win the promotion’s welterweight title.

“This is the best experience so far, it’s an important milestone for me, where I am in my career at the moment. It felt like I was fighting on my home turf,” Ståhl later told Frontkick about the win.
