UFC 205 was held at the Madison Square Garden in New York City, and was described by UFC president Dana White as the ”biggest fight card” in the promotion’s history.

The event was headlined lightweight title bout where a prime featherweight champion Conor McGregor defeated Eddie Alvarez to become the first fighter in UFC history to hold titles in two divisions simultaneously.
