Usyk and Fury have first faceoff ahead of rematch

The two best heavyweight boxers in the world are set to rematch this December.

On Wednesday, Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury shared a press conference in London promoting the huge rematch.

Usyk and Fury clashed back in May with the undisputed heavyweight titles on the line, which the Ukrainian won via split decision.

Topuria: Holloway’s not the best boxer in the UFC

Ilia Topuria, who’s known for his boxing approach in MMA, does not agree that Max Holloway is the best pugilist in the UFC.

“In reality, he’s a good striker,” Topuria said at Wednesday’s UFC 308 media day. “It’s not only boxer because calling himself the best boxer in the UFC is kind of a shame, because he’s not the best boxer in the UFC, but he’s a good striker. He has a lot of experience. He’s very patient inside the octagon.”

Topuria claimed he’s the new generation of MMA fighting whereas his former opponent hasn’t kept evolving in the past years.

“What evolution do you see in Max Holloway in every fight? Maybe only in striking. But you don’t see him getting better in wrestling or on the ground, you don’t see him trying to new things.”

Ige: Murphy is a reward for answering short-notice call

Dan Ige sees the main card fight against undefeated Lerone Murphy as kind of a reward after accepting a short-notice fight against Diego Lopes in June.

“I get to fight a guy above me in the rankings. Yes, he’s undefeated, he’s been tested against worthy contenders, but it comes down to self-belief,” Ige said at a recent press conference. Belief in myself and my team. I believe we have the game plan to beat him, and that’s the beauty of this sport. Anything can happen in MMA so, I’m going to look to go out there and be the first person to beat Lerone Murphy, and I truly believe I could do so.”
