UFC 279 Results: Khamzat Chimaev and Nate Diaz gets it done via stoppage!

The highly anticipated UFC 279 main event turned out be to a very entertaining and gruelling fight between the two veterans Nate Diaz and Tony Ferguson. In the fourth round, Diaz was able to stop ”El Cucuy” with his career-tenth UFC submission.

After the fight there was alot of respect between the two popular UFC veterans.

”At least I got a worthy OG representative of mixed martial arts,” Diaz said in the post-fight interview.

In the co-main event, Khamzat Chimaev stopped Kevin Holland just over two minutes into the first round. The undefeated Swede streamrolled his opponent and finished him with a D’Arce choke submission.

”I’m the most dangerous guy here,” Chimaev said in the post-fight interview with Joe Rogan.

On the prelims, Swedish powerhouse Anton ”The Pleasure Man” Turkalj lost his short notice promotional debut against Brazil’s Jailton Almeida.

Jailton Almeida, Johnny Walker, Irene Aldana and Nate Diaz was awarded with 50 000 dollar bonuses for their performances at UFC 279.
