On Saturday June 10, bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes returns to defend her belt against Irene Aldana at UFC 289.
Nunes was originally scheduled to face Julianna Pena for the third time, but the ’Venezuelan Vixen’ had to pull out and Aldana took the fight.
”At the end of the day, I like to fight a good opponent, a respectable opponent like Aldana. It’s gonna be awesome,” Nunes said about the change of opponent.
The co-main event features a pivotal lightweight bout between former champion Charles Oliveira and Beniel Dariush. The winner of the highly anticipated fight might very well challenge for the lightweight title next.
The UFC 289 fight card also features a featherweight bout between Dan Ige and Nate Landwehr as well as a middleweight bout between Nassourdine Imavov and Chris Curtis.
