Tonight’s co-main event cancelled due to HUGE weight miss

Tonight’s flyweight rematch between Manel Kape and Matheus Nicolau is off.

Kape missed weight by a staggering 3.5 pounds and the co-main event was called off.

Reports first claimed Nicolau had agreed to accept a 25 percent fine of Kape’s purse and the fight would still be on the card. However, the promotion later announced that the fight was cancelled.

”It is the duty of the martial artist to fulfill this obligation of making weight the day before the fight,” a disappointed Nicolau said about the situation. ”Kape was irresponsible, reckless and disrespectful. He disrespected me as a colleague, opponent and martial artist. Disrespected MMA. Disrespected the UFC.”

US: The prelims will be streamed by ESPN beginning at 4 p.m. ET. The main card begins at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN+.
