UFC parts ways nine fighters – including longtime veteran!

Fighters come and go in the world’s leading MMA promotion. UFC has recently parted ways with nine athletes, according to Roster Tracker.

The list includes a longtime veteran with 20 UFC fights to his name, as well as Dana White Contender Series alumnis.

Andre Fialho

Portugal’s Andre Fialho suffered four straight knockouts in a span of 15 months, and leaves with a 2-5 promotional record. In his last outing he lost to Tim Means following a third-round stoppage.

The Portuguese fighter tested himself against tough opponents like Michel Pereira, Muslim Salikhov and Joaquin Buckley.

Fialho is a former UAE Warriors champion and has also competed for PFL, Bellator and LFA.

Hannah Goldy

Flyweight and strawweight fighter Hannah Goldy just won one bout in her five octagon appearances.

The 31-year-old lost to Molly McCann and Mizuki Inoue in her two most recent outings. Her only win was an impressive first-round submission win against Emily Whitmire back in September 2021.

JP Buys

South African bantamweight contender JP Buys signed with the promotion after Dana White’s Contender Series. He fought four bouts but had no success in the octagon.

”Thank you & so long UFC. It’s never been easy for me but at the time I gave it all I had,” Buys said on social media.

Carl Deaton III

Carl Deaton III, also known as ”The Anishinaabe Kid”, had two fights in the promotion but was not able to secure a win.

He made his debut in February, 2023, with a second-round submission loss to Joe Solecki. A few months later, in his last fight, the 33-year-old lost to Alex Munoz via unanimous decision.

A.J. Fletcher

A.J. Fletcher signed with the UFC after a first-round flying knee KO in Dana White’s Contender Series back in 2021. However, he ended his four-fight promotional deal with just one win.

”The Ghost” defeated Themba Gorimbo via submission but fell short to Matthew Semelsberger, Ange Loosa and Bryan Battle in his last outing a few weeks back.

Kamuela Kirk

Featherweight Kamuela Kirk started his UFC journey in the best possible way as he defeated the seasoned veteran Makwan Amirkhani via unanimous decision back in 2021.

However, after losing to Damon Jackson and Esteban Ribovics the promotion decided to part ways with the 29-year-old.

Tucker Lutz

Tucker ”Top Gun” Lutz signed with the promotion after two wins in the Dana White Contender Series in 2020.

He completed his four-fight UFC contract with just one win against Kevin Aguilar. The American featherweight fighter fell short to Pat Sabatini, Daniel Pineda and Melsik Baghdasaryan.

Shane Young

New Zealand’s Shane Young was let go after losing his past four fights, and a 2-5 promotional record.

In his UFC debut back in 2017, he fought future champion Alexander Volkanovski at a Fight Night in Sydney, Australia. Volkanovski won the fight via unanimous decision.

John Makdessi

The Canadian lightweight John Makdessi has been with the UFC since 2010, and pulled together a 11-9 record. He leaves the promotion with back-to-back losses against Nasrat Haqparast and Jamie Mullarkey.

During his time in the UFC he fought names like Lando Vannata, Donald Cerrone and Ignacio Bahamondes.
