Undefeated OKTAGON MMA fighter Lucia Szabova will be back in action on July 20. She will take on Spanish prospect Aitana Alvarez in a highly anticipated bantamweight title contender bout.

Alvarez has four straight wins and is an up-and-coming talent, but the ”Silent Killer” is well-prepared to take the fight anywhere.

”My opponent is good, I know that,” Szabova tells Frontkick in an exclusive interview. ”Should I reveal the tactics here now? I’m going to send her front, back and to the ground or beat her with anything else. In most matches, I try to react to my opponent and take advantage of their mistakes.”

What is special about you that Alvarez has not yet encountered?

”Every fighter has something special. I think my magic is in the unbreakable will that I have in my fights. I go forward and don’t give up.”

Lucia Szabova alternates MMA and Muay Thai bouts

Szabova is a big name in the domestic scene of OKTAGON and a favorite to win on her home soil in Bratislava. To compete at her home turf in an open air event is truly special for the undefeated MMA fighter.

”It will be different in that it is at home. Everyone can probably say that they wrestle better outside, there is not so much pressure on you, but I am very much looking forward to it,” Szabova says. ”The home crowd has its own charm, it drives ”their” fighters forward and I’m really looking forward to it! It will be different compared to Stvanice, but I believe it will be even nicer!”

Szabova is undefeated as a pro MMA fighter and has lately alternated fights in MMA and Muay Thai. At OKTAGON 47 she faced Swedish Muay Thai Alexandra Andersröd in a Muay Thai bout with 4 ounce gloves.

Do you prefer fighting in MMA or Muay Thai?

”I feel much better about MMA and enjoy it more. It is more complex and interesting from my point of view. I took my last Muay Thai fights as a preparation to get back into it and stay in a fighting rhythm.”
