The main card opener turned out to be a interesting clash of styles when No. 9 ranked light heavyweight Volkan Oezdemir defeated No. 8 ranked Paul Craig. Volkan remained calm during the fight and was able to defend Craig’s submission attempts and land his patented heavy hands.

After three tough rounds, Oezdemir stood as the winner by unanimous decision with 30-27 from all three judges.

”He is very dangerous on the ground,” Oezdemir said in the post-fight interview with Michael Bisping. ”I did what I had to do. It worked out fine.”

The win was important for Volkan Oezdemir who had two straight losses ahead of the bout at UFC London. All in all he has a record of 18-6, with six wins in the organization.
