Saturday June 4, Zone Pro League returns with the anticipated event Zone Pro League 3. In cooperation with Bulldog Media, the Swedish fight organization’s third event will be held at the Kooperativet in Gothenburg, and featuers a bunch of thrilling pro MMA fights, as well as Muay Thai bouts.
Exciting prospects and unique atmosphere
The Zone Pro League events are known for showcasing exciting up-and-comers in a great atmosphere where the loud Gothenburg crowd really comes into its own.
Saturday’s card does not detour from the winning concept.
In the main event we will see undefeated pros Freddy Castro Gonzalez and Merza Akhlaghi clash in a Muay Thai fight. Stylewise, Castro Gonzalez is a aggressive and unpredictable fighter, while Akhlaghi is more of a cold blooded sniper. The fact they come from rival cities Stockholm and Gothenburg makes the bout even more interesting.
The evenings co-main event features a highly exciting local MMA derby between flyweights Binh Son Le and Renato Vidovic, where the winner will be considered the flyweight king of Gothenburg. Son Le has ten pro bouts in international organizations like Bellator M-1, while Renato has made a mark as a amateur fighter, winning gold in two European championships.
Renato was recently featured as one of the top MMA prospects in Sweden by Frontkick.online.
Pro MMA debut for hometown hero
The card also features a international Muay Thai contest between England’s Simon Forrest and Sweden’s Sam Ghoroghi, as well as hometown hero John Oldenqvist’s pro MMA debut.
We will also see yet another classic Stockholm/Gothenburg rivalry when Filiz Demirbek and Madeleine Saengthong clashes in a highly anticipated Muay Thai fight.
”This is a high class card and there will be full action from 20.00 CET,” Zone Pro League CEO August Wallén recently told Aftonbladet. ”Commentators for the event will be Sebastian Vendel-Martinez, Christoffer Wassberg and Andreas Bruzelius.”
