Bernardo Sopai set for next title defense – faces Brazilian finisher!

Another fight has been added to Allstars Fight Night (AFN) 5! Reigning bantamweight champion Bernardo “The Lion King” Sopai will make the first defense of his title against Brazilian Luiz “Aranha” Silva (9-4)!

Since his pro debut in the summer of 2016 Sopai has been a top prospect to keep an eye on and he relocated to Sweden during 2019, joining team Allstars. Since then he had a strong 1-1 run in Brave CF, where he defeated Tariq Ismail and lost a razoe-thin decision to Francesco Nuzzi.

Sopai would go on to capture the vacant Fight Club Rush title after knocking out Karlen Minasian and defended it once before getting stripped due to inactivity and contract disputes between the promotion and fighters management.

At AFN 4 Sopai battled Geovane Vargas for the vacant bantamweight title, winning via first round TKO.

Silva is a fighter with much experience and a high finishing percentage, competing as a pro since 2012. He is currently riding a two fight winning streak, both via finish, and holds wins in three out of his four latest fights.
