Swedish MMA fan favorite Nabbe Malki will be back for his second professional bout this weekend.
On the main card of FCR 16 he will take on fellow Stockholm striker Ebrima Faal in a three-round catchweight bout.
Talking exclusively to Frontkick, Malki shares his thoughts on the upcoming MMA derby, FCR 16 and his future as a fighter.
“It’s a good matchup for both of us. We’re both strikers and from Stockholm,” Malki says. “Ebrima is pretty tall compared to me, and competed a lot in Muay Thai before. The guy can fight for sure.”
As an amateur Malki has victories over the likes of Christian Stigenberg, Michael Kouame and Addis Saljevic, before turning pro in 2022.
In his professional debut at FCR 13 in Stockholm, he defeated long-time rival Taylan Isik with a first-round TKO to the roaring support of the hometown crowd.
Will you have the fans behind you in Västerås as well?
“You will hear that Nabbe Malki is fighting,” he says and promises a great fight. “Don’t blink, I know what I’m capable of and I know what he can do.”

Wants to stay active in 2023
Fight Club Rush 16 has a bunch of interesting bouts on the card, however, there are a couple of standout fights that Malki will keep a close eye on.
“It will be interesting to see Anton Hellström from SFG. I sparred with him and he’s a very skilled boxer. There’s not a lot of fighters with hands like his,” Malki says and continues:
“Andreas ‘Bane’ is interesting too, he’s a beast so that fight will be fun. Sahil Siraj is a great fighter as well. In general the whole card is really good.”
If everything goes according to the plan, we will see more of Nabbe Malki later on this year.
“My plan is to go down to welterweight and fight frequently. As long as my body holds up and everything works I want to stay as active as possible.”
