At the same time as UFC Vegas 56, a regional show called Zone Pro League 3 went down in Gothenburg, Sweden where local talent and a couple of international prospects entered the cage.
The card featured both professional cage fights in both MMA and Muay Thai and the majority of the bouts ended in spectacular finishes.
In the Zone Pro League 3 headliner, Swedish Muay Thai and kickboxing champion Freddy “Krueger” Castro Gonzalez might’ve scored the most brutal knockouts of night as he floored the hometown standout Merza Akhlaghi with a perfectly-placed head kick in round one.
Castro Gonzalez was standing in southpaw when he faked the left hook only to come over the top with the left roundhouse kick instead. Akhlaghi did not see it coming and was immediately unconscious as he dropped to the ground after only 32 seconds in the very first round.
It should be noted that Akhlaghi appeared to get hit by an illegal kick on the ground a few seconds earlier, although he didn’t seem to get too rocked by the accidental blow.
