Zvonimir “The Croatian Sensation” Kralj is one of the most well-rounded combat sports veterans in Sweden. With Swedish Championship gold medals in both boxing and BJJ, and a number of international pro MMA fights to his name, he always had a desire of testing himself against the best in everything he takes on.

As a hand-to-hand combat connoisseur, Muay Thai is a sport he always wanted to compete in but never had the chance to.

Until now.

In an exclusive interview with Frontkick, the Gothenburg fighter opens up on his first pro Muay Thai bout at a very special combat sports event – Muay Thai For Life: Unite Against Cancer.

“I’ve been wanting to fight in Muay Thai for a long time, but The Swedish Muay Thai Federation didn’t allow me to compete in the Swedish Championships because I had to few fights. I mean, what the fuck, I’ve been a pro MMA fighter! But Patrick Thomsen at MTFL solved the problem. Now I will make my first fight as a pro,” Kralj laughs.

“It will be a banger”

On October 28 “The Croatian Sensation” enters the ring to face seasoned striker Hassan Oseni from Canada in a super heavyweight bout.

“He’s a Canadian K1 fighter, and he’s tough. He got a lot of pro fights, kicks and punches hard. It will be a banger,” Kralj predicts. “The closer it gets the more positive nervousness I feel. I got a new ignition, the closer I get to the fight the harder and more focused I train. It’s been way too long since I was in a fight now.”

Special event for Zvonimir Kralj

MTFL: Unite Against Cancer is a special charity fundraising event in favour of The Swedish Cancer Society, and will take place on October 28 at the Partiella Arena in Gothenburg. Being a part of the card is a big deal for Zvonimir Kralj.

“It will be great. The mix of a fun fight for a good cause was what pushed me a bit extra taking the fight,” he says. “I have many family members that have been diagnosed with cancer and it’s horrible. That’s why it feels extra special to be a part of this event.”

Having the backup of the hometown crowd is also something that the Gothenburg fighter looks forward to.

“It will be fun to bring friends there. I’ve got nothing to prove, I will go in there to finish or get finished. Just putting on a show,” Kralj says.
