Allstars Fight Night bantamweight champion Bernardo Sopai will reportedly make his UFC debut on five days notice, as he’ll step in against Vinicius Oliveira at Saturday’s UFC Vegas 87 according to MMA Fighting.
We’re still trying to reach Sopai’s team for confirmation, but it seems like the fight has been verbally agreed upon by both fighters, with bout agreements yet to be signed.
Bernardo Sopai left FCR to pursue AFN title, now looking to square off against fellow UFC newcomer
Bernardo Sopai, a 23-year-old Swedish-based Albanian 11-2 prospect representing Allstars Training Center, last fought in December when the former Fight Club Rush champion left FCR to pursue the Allstars Fight Night championship. “The Lion King” won the AFN title against Geovane Vargas as he made the Brazilian fighter submit due to his punches to secure his third straight finish.
Vinicius Oliveira, a DWCS alum and former UAE Warriors champion, is also looking to make his UFC debut. The 19-3 Brazilian, nicknamed “Lok Dog” is coming off a first-round knockout win against Victor Madrigal last September.
Oliveira was originally scheduled to face Yanis Ghemmouri, who withdrew for undisclosed reasons.
