UFC middleweight Alex Pereira raised his stocks considerably when he knocked out Sean Strickland at UFC 276. One who was impressed was rising star Khamzat Chimaev who immiditaly called out the Brazilian.
“I’m want to fight with this guy UFC,” Chimaev wrote on Twitter. “Dana White let’s make it.”
In a interview with Helen Yee, the Brazilian middleweight responded to Chimaev’s callout.
“I’m gonna keep the same line that I always do,” Pereira said. “See what’s in front of me, not what is ahead. Same with Sean Strickland fight. People were talking about Israel’s fight and I said, ‘Look, I’ve got to take care of this first.’ Right now, I’m gonna take care of my fight with Israel for the title and then after that we’ll see about that.”

Alex Pereira: “To be the champ, that’s my goal”
Alex Pereira has one goal in mind, and that is to be the UFC champion. In a future fight with dominant middleweight champ Israel Adesanya, he really believes that he will have the advantage.
“It’s the third time we are fightning, you know, so I kind of know about his game,” Pereira said. “I know what’s ahead of me. But I always stay grounded. I think I have him.”
The former Glory Kickboxing champion made his UFC debut last November, with a solid TKO-win over Andreas Michailidis. In his second bout he defeated the tough Bruno Silva via unanimous decision.
